Digital
Submissions
The preferred format for all electronic files
is PDF. Most newer versions of page layout and
graphics software have the ability to export
as a PDF or print to a PDF. In either case these
are fine as long as you embed all fonts
and convert all your images to CMYK.
Most applications will give you several options
for the PDF such as screen or print. Choose
the PDF/X-1a or Press Quality.
For those applications that do not have these
built-in options you will need to save your
file as a postscript file and use Adobe Acrobat
Distiller to create the PDF. For in depth information,
including the benefits of creating an Acrobat
Distilled PDF, see
Adobe’s White
Paper
on producing print-ready documents. These procedures
will result in the best quality print with the
least likelihood for errors.
We support PC-based Adobe CS2 (Acrobat,
Illustrator, InDesign, Photoshop, and
CorelDraw). Files must includes all fonts
and CMYK links necessary for placement.
All other files must be saved as encapsulated
postscript files (EPS) with fonts converted
to curves and all CMYK links saved within the
files. All colors should be CMYK and all embedded
images should be at least 300 dpi.
Hard copy must be submitted with all electronic
files. We accept files on CD, DVD or Zip Disk
or you can upload files to our server. For
uploading instructions, contact our Internet
Department at 1.800.525.1403. Be sure to send
an email to
kim@nccoast.com
notifying us that you have uploaded your ad.
